About the Artist

Andrew S. Bale, photographer's portraitAndrew Bale is a 30-something photographer living in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He grew up just outside Harrisburg on a shady street in a lovely house with a big porch.

Andy went to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, where he happened to earn a BFA. After graduating, he went to Taos, New Mexico, and mastered the art of making extremely large platinum-palladium prints.

Upon returning to Harrisburg several years later, he worked for Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Carl Socolow, photographing commercially throughout Pennsylvania.

Andrew received his MFA from the University of Delaware in 2005, and is currently teaching at Dickinson College, Messiah College, and Lebanon Valley College. Andrew's work is represented in a number of public and private collections, and has exhibited his work throughout the U.S.
